Samsung TV cannot see Serviio

Hello,

I have a Samsung smart TV that has worked with serviio before but since moving and setting up my configuration even slightly differently it has not longer been able to see the serviio process running on my computer.
As of right now i have a dlink dir 601 running as the main router and the Samsung tv is plugged in via ethernet to this router. I have my computer that is running serviio hooked up to another router (dlink dir 615) that is running dd-wrt. The dlink 615 is set up in client bridge mode, since for whatever reason wireless repeater isn't an option for the router. If I plug my laptop into the main router (dlink 601) I can ping my computer running serviio just fine and can see that it is on the network and my computer can also see everything that is connected to the network, however for some reason my Samsung TV cannot tell that serviio is running on the network.

The only difference I have between when it was working in my previous set up and how it is now is that my computer was going through the same router but I can't seem to figure out why that would make a difference.

Can make a big difference I am afraid. Bridges can be a pita. Many bridges by default will limit broadcast and multicast traffic.... however the use of broadcast traffic is essential for Serviio (and other media servers) to advertise its presence on the network.

You need to either:

• Set your device to allow broadcast traffic to pass through the bridge. How you do this, or even if you can, depends on the router (look for IGMP forwarding, IGMP snooping or IGMP proxy options). This may be of assistance: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/udp_multicast - look at the Multicast Forwarding section at the bottom.
• Turn that second router into a switch. This is generally easy, but uses one of your LAN ports. To do this, set the router back into router mode (or factory reset it to default) and turn off DHCP. Plug a lead from a LAN port on the first router to a spare LAN port on the second router. Note that the WAN port is not used on the second router. <edit> I see you are in client bridge mode - extending across the wireless - so this likely won't be an option for you.
