Internet Access

I have Serviio installed and working fine on my local area network. I'm looking to setup Internet access and looking for instructions on what is required (ports, etc). I've looked through the forum and the website, but not found anything. Any links or thoughts appreciated...

Re: Internet Access

If you are referring to accessing the Media Browser from outside your network, only one port needs to be opened. See this page for more complete instructions http://serviio.org/component/content/article/10-uncategorised/59-mediabrowser#remote_access, but it is port 23424.

If you want a DLNA media player to access your server from outside your network, I don't believe that is possible. The DLNA protocol only scans your local network, and potentially a different network that is interconnected with the proper routing services in place. This is far beyond the scope of help that can be provided here.
