Microsoft media player

Has anyone figured out how to get windows media player 12 to work with Serviio? That is the default player that comes with windows 7 sp1 (and my systems are). It is funny that the media player can see the server just fine but fails to get file/folder/playlist information. I've found many posts that WMP 11 will work with some codec packs but I am finding nothing on getting WMP 12 to work. I have serviio running on a win server 2012 machine in a local domain and the systems I'm trying to connect from are all win7 sp1. If this is a non problem for others a little guidance on what I may be doing wrong would be most welcome.

I think you need the Windows Indexing service running on your PC, then you need to Windows Media Player where your media is. (In WMP > Organise >Manage Libraries).

Ask for more help if this gets you somewhere.
