Rendering Web access problems with iPhone 5s (IOS 8.02)

Want to start by letting you know that Serviio is GREAT !!!

Here is one of my issues. I access Serviio via the Web browser interface with all of my devices. (http://servername:23424/mediabrowser/#/login). I have to click Folders/WMV/ then my movies are listed. Works GREAT via web browser on Windows 7 (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.). On a PC screen it is wide enough to show the Movie control on the left, and the Playlist on the right.

When I access Serviio MediaBrowser webpage (http://servername:23424/mediabrowser/#/login) and log in all is well until I try to play a movie. I click Folders/WMV/ then my movies are listed. I click on the first movie is usually works fine - movie start playing. IF I want I can stop movie and go back to movie list and pick another movie to play. After about the 2nd or 3rd movie selection - instead of the movie control being visible on the screen, the Playlist displays. Once the Display list is visible on the screen there is no way to get back to any other screens on Serviio (i.e. none of your buttons work) movie does not play (but there is an active download symbol in the top bar on my iphone). If I use the browsers back arrow I have to log back in. Is this a bug or is there some other way to get the movie control visible on my web page.

Re: Rendering Web access problems with iPhone 5s (IOS 8.02)

The screen on the iPhone is not wide enough for the movie play controls to be displayed next to the display list - side by side like of a full blown desktop browser. When I am having this issue with the display stuck on the display list - If i rotate my iphone to landscape - I can still see the display list - but I can also see part of the movie play controls - but I cant pan the screen so I can make the movie play controls full y visible. very frustrating.

Hi, I use VLC to stream in my iPad. It works fine.
I know this is not the answer to your question, but maybe you will find it more convenient.

Thanks for the tip. I have been using VLC for years - and I agree that it is GREAT too. Have not tried it lately though for this type of access (HTTP) to my media. I will upgrade my current VLC on my Media server and give it a try. My hope though is to get Serviio fully working HTTP from all of my devices (Windows, Android, IOS, Linux). As you can see - I like to PLAY with ALL of the popular OS's :-) Keeps me out of trouble.....actually it probably GETS me into more trouble - but it IS fun !!

Hi, what I meant by VLC is to use it as a DLNA player.
VLC has DLNA in the latest releases, so you can find the Serviio server there and browse your files and play them.
