Can't access any internet stream

Can't access any internet stream

I am trying to feed an internet stream to my TV. Any stream.

I find a working stream on the internet
I copy the URL
I open the Serviio console and go to the Online Sources tab
I click Add
I select 'Live Stream'
I paste the URL of the site
I click 'Check Stream URL'
I get a red cross.

This always happens.

Can anyone tell me why?

Can you provide an example of the URL? Then we can try it and see if it's a networking issue at your end or Serviio.

Also be aware: most online streams require a plug-in to work. You can't just enter the URL and the media suddenly appears. Once we know the URL you're trying we'll know what's necessary.

Yes, those will require a plug-in. Check the "Available Plugins" section of the forum and see if someone has already requested or created one. If not, that's the place to ask. Personally, I know nothing about plug-in creation.

Does it mean that for each streaming/paying from web resource is necessary plugin? There was info that some of the web sources does not need any plugin, so It would be nice to get some sample links to test it in order to understand what does it mean web resources playing through the serviio, and the same would be nice about RSS. There are some samples with youtube but somehow it not working with me and somewhere I read that youtube stopped supporting RSS. I have SYNOLOGY 713+, Serviio 1.4.1.2 . still in trial version and If someone can help me with this settings and getting RSS and WEB working probably I will go for PRO version.

There is a whole forum for online content. Some of it will be outdated, but still a lot of the topics are supported and valid.

Thank you very much for the links, without plugin requirements it works, but with plugin is some issue.

Hope that someone will helpwith this issue, there are several people with same problem.

Thank you for your great product, however it has some small details to be fixed, but we have a hope that with the support of the all PRO version owners you will have much more success.
