files stored on external HHDs

I'm using mac os x, and a LG 47lb650v.

I have successfully found my Serviio library on my TV, but when adding libraries to share, cannot see a way of successfully adding those stored on external HDDs. I have an alias (shortcut) on my desktop, which I can add to share, but the content does not show up on my TV. My music (iTunes) folder that is stored on my system HD, is shared with no issue.

I don't have room on my system HDD for everything, so if someone could assist, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Re: files stored on external HHDs

With external drives, it's almost always a permissions issue with the external drive. I'm not sure on a Mac, but with Windows the Serviio process is run as a system service, not a specific user, and this system service may not have the permissions necessary for access. With a Mac, this could be a similar issue.
