VLC streaming to workaround lack of FFWD of our TV

Hello all,

I'm trying to solve a problem of my TV (Philips) which can't fast forward movies...

I'm happier than a clam using Serviio and our TV to watch movies... the day we discovered that tandem we discovered a new TV set.

Only a few times (twice a year or so) we are watching a film and suddenly that film gets stopped and the TV starts watching the next one...

As we can't Fast Forward to the last position, I was thinking on solve it by streaming the film using VLC. Then I would be able to FFWD the films that get stopped from time to time.

In VLC I've made:

MEDIA (menu) -> Stream (menu option) -> File (tab) -> Add (button) + select the file name -> Stream (button) -> Next (button) -> HTTP (combobox) -> Add (button) -> Next (button) -> Video for MPEG4 1080p TV/Device (Combobox) Next (button) -> Stream (button).

The stream starts.

Then in Serviio I've made:

Online (tab) -> add (button) -> Live feed (combobox) -> URL (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080) -> check URL (button) + it appears the green tick -> Name to show (VLC) -> Add.

I can see it on the TV but it doesn't play anything...
I have used another VLC instance to try to play the stream and it works...

what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you all!
