Display content only: DLNA vs web browser

Hi,

I have noticed that the Serviio web browser (which I love, by the way :D) displays the categories in a different way than TV when using DLNA. I will explain a little bit, my folder structure is like this:

- Pictures
- Music
- Video
---- Series
---- Movies
---- Other

Serviio adds categories, so when browsing my server (DLNA or web), I see the following

- Pictures
- Music
- Video
---- Author
---- Year
---- Other useful categories...
---- Folders (in case you want to browse your own folder structure)
-------- Music (this is my actual folder)
-------- Pictures (this is my actual folder)
-------- Video (this is my actual folder)
------------ Series
------------ Movies
------------ Other

Ok, at the moment I don't need any of the Serviio categories, I just want to display my folders, so I have set all the categories to be hidden, and then:

- Folders: Display content only

Whith this solution, when I use DLNA I see the following (and desired) structure:

- Pictures
- Music
- Video
---- Series
---- Movies
---- Other

But, when I access via the Serviio Web Browser, I see the following structure:

- Video
---- Folders
-------- Here my content

I mean... it seems that the web browser behaves in a different way. Is this a bug? Some kind of missconfiguration from my side (very posible :D)?

Thank you very much!

Re: Display content only: DLNA vs web browser

MediaBrowser doesn't support the Content only setting. It's due to the design of the app.

Re: Display content only: DLNA vs web browser

I know this thread has been dormant for a very long time, but I just spent many hours over a few days trying every possible combination to get my media presentation to appear the way I want it. Eventually I stumbled across the right google phrase to find this thread that helped me to realize that testing the presentation with Serviio's own media browser would not work! Please accept my recommendation to do one or more of the following:

1) Add an item under the FAQ section explaining this shortcoming of the media browser so that it is easier to find this information.
2) Add a note in the Serviio console indicating the the "Display content only" option will not be visible in the MediaBrowser.
3) Fix MediaBrowser so that it actually works with all of the Serviio features...I can't be the only one that uses it to test my configuration.
