Access group options greyed out?

Hi. I'm a new user of Serviio and it is working well with my networked blu-ray players, but now I'm trying to set up "access groups". For some reason all the options relating to them are greyed-out though. I've tried restarting the server, running the console as administrator, rebooting my PC, etc. Am I missing something?

Check the About tab. I suspect your 15 day evaluation period has finished.
Access Groups is a Pro only feature (or Evaluation period) - see http://www.serviio.org/component/conten ... ree-vs-pro.

Thanks! I honestly didn't even realize there was a Pro version. It's a great piece of software though so I'll probably be ordering it later today. :)

Just one other question if you don't mind. Are the access groups linked to IP address or the device name? Just wondering if I'll need to manually set the IP addresses or continue using DHCP.

Many DHCP servers assign a given address for 7 days. You can probably adjust this in your router. You can also add a reservation to the DHCP server so it always assigns the same IP address. That's easier than setting static addresses on everything.

I've never had an issue with a device losing it's IP address on the network. Perhaps because everything on the network is fired up at least once before its assignment times out.

To answer your question, I believe they are linked to the IP address. Serviio doesn't recognize the MAC address, and not every device advertises itself accurately via DLNA.

I think it's good practice to provide reserved IP addresses for the Serviio Server and for all renderers. I do this and have never had any of the issues others on the forum have had with the server not being found or from the renderers caching the (old) server address.
