Language support in subs?

Hello
Any way of enabling different language support in subs?
For instance i'm using .srt subs in nordic language, and the letters Æ, Ø, Å is not show in the sub. Its in the subfile but when i stream the movie with the sub those 3 lettes r removed. I know this is a small problem but those 3 letters are VERY commnonly used

depends if the subs are burned-in or not. Generally I'd suggest you convert the srt file to UTF-8
