Playlists PLS / M3U

Hello community,

the last I tried to get a playlist work on my serviio.

I created a simple m3u-playlist where I pasted the file-paths from the files on the media server (/media/hdd/music.......)
It didn't work.

After that I tried it with an editor without succes by creating a complex m3u playlist and a pls playlist.

Can anybody send my an a concrete example of a pls or m3u file that defienatly works on serviio? I canntofind any howto or tutorial to create THE playlist.

Here is the content of my file. It lays in the root directoryof my music videos. It is a smb-share and if i execute it with vlc from Windows it works, but there is no entry in the serviio library.
[playlist]
File1=/D/De La Soul/De La Soul - Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey).mkv
Title1=De La Soul - Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)
Length1=-1
File2=/D/De La Soul/De La Soul ft Chaka Khan - All Good.mkv
Title2=/De La Soul ft Chaka Khan - All Good
Length2=-1
NumberOfEntries=2
Version=2

Greetings

Re: Playlists PLS / M3U

It certainly works for me. I use the PLS format, and use a Windows program (Playlist Creator 3) to build them. From your file path, it appears you are using something besides Windows. I know the file path can be particular, and in my files it includes the complete path. Also, remember that the PLS file itself must be located in a folder that Serviio scans, not the application location.

Re: Playlists PLS / M3U

I used the playlist creator and a texteditor because I'm running Serviio on an Ubuntu server. That's why the file paths are different to the windows paths.

As I said, the playlist file is located in the root directory of my music videos. Serviio scans all the content of this directory. It creates a message in the log file that the [PlaylistFileIndexer] Added playlist Gringo.pls.

INFO [PlaylistFileIndexer] Added playlist 'test.pls' (title: Gringo) to Library

When I execute the file from this share with my Windows Notebook, the VLC player finds the paths and the videos start playing. So the paths are right.
If I access the Serviio media server via Upnp in Kodi I cannot see the playlist. :?:

I'm a little bit confused now.

Greetings

Re: Playlists PLS / M3U

Hello again,

I fexed this issue by activating the Playlists category in the Serviio console.

But now, I deleted my test playlist Gringo.pls and it keeps staying in the mdeia browser library.
The file is gone but the entry is still available. :?:

How can I remove playlists now from my library?

Greetings Nicke

Ah, didn't realize you hadn't enabled the Playlist category. That would do it! :D

Hopefully Zip's suggestion about a forced refresh will take care of it. I've noticed that playlist updates don't always get detected by Serviio, and a forced refresh takes care of it.

Re: Playlists PLS / M3U

To get my data refreshed, i have to force it everytime because I use NFS-Shares of my NAS for my libraries.

Sometimes it takes care of the Playlists, but mostly not.
