Metadata Lost

Hey all,

My server recently lost off of the metadata I had for my video files. My server can go weeks or months at a time without access to the internet. In the logs it looks like it tried to connect to the online metadata sources but failed due to not having an active internet connection. After that it "updated" the metadata for all of my videos and wiped everything.

Is there a way to stop the metadata update process?

Thank you.

Re: Metadata Lost

This has happened to me recently as well.

Are you by any chance using a VPN?

Re: Metadata Lost

On the Serviio console, select the Metadata panel. Under Descriptive Metadata, there is a drop-down box that defaults to Online metadata sources. You can change this to No descriptive metadata and it will no longer try to access the Internet.

However, I think you may lose your current metadata (not sure, you might keep whatever was already downloaded). You can use NFO files if you'd like to add metadata when not connected to the Internet, but you'll have to create the files yourself. I have no idea if there's any software that allows easy creation of them, but I could always be wrong
