movied keep starting with subs on

not sure if I am posting in the correct spot but I have serviio newest non beta installed on my windows 10 pc and stream to my Samsung 75" 4k tv and everything works great but some of my videos have subtitles withing the video that can be turned on or off in media player (no srt file) but playing on my tv the movie always starts with the subs on, I can pause and go to the top of the screen on the tv and go to settings and turn them off but that doesn't keep them off. next time I play it they are enabled again? in the serviio console subs are not checked. is it the tv ore the serviio server.

The TV is controlling this. There may be an option to turn them off by default on the TV - Google (eg http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/ ... tv-619894/) or your manual will help, otherwise a fellow Samsung user may know.

If they are off in the console, external or hardsubs should not be delivered. If you're still seeing them on your TV, they maybe be embedded in the video file, over which Serviio doesn't have control.

it must be something the tv is doing. i have looked everywhere in the tv and subs are off but when i start certain movies they are on and i have to turn them off in the tv. oh well i can deal with .

Can you play them on your pc or on the tv via usb w/o subs? if not test them with Mediainfo. perhaps the subs are already burnt into the picture and are unseperable.

No it sounds like they are part of the picture..ie someone captured the hardsubs output from ffmpeg and that's what you have.

Not this case, are he can turn them off via the TV remote.

Would be nice to see ffmpeg & mediainfo output. Its obviously not Serviio.
