Serviio suddenly not detected by TV

I've been using Serviio for a while now, first on Windows 7 and more recently on Windows 10. It worked with no problems up to a few weeks ago, but after one of the recent Windows updates it no longer gets detected by my Sony Bravia TV. Reinstalling Serviio and updating to 1.5.2 did not solve the issue.

I've tried turning off Windows Firewall and restarting the service but it still doesn't work. I get a <serviceStarted>true</...> response on http://localhost:23423/rest/service-status , so the service is running.

Additionally, I've changed the service properties to use my login name/password, but that didn't work either.

I can, however, see the Sony TV in the Serviio console and even properly see its status (Active/Inactive). It has the correct profile (Sony Bravia TV 2013/14), which is the one it had previously (when it still worked). I've also changed the Bound IP from automatic to my home connection and the home connection is using the Private network profile.

Any more ideas on what I can do to resolve this problem? Or is this perhaps a known clash with one of the newer Windows 10 updates that hasn't been fixed yet and will be solved in a future version of Serviio?

Re: Serviio suddenly not detected by TV

My guess would be that your computer has changed its IP address, and either Serviio didn't catch the change or your TV is looking for the wrong address.

I'm not familiar with a Sony TV, but with my BD players there is a menu option to clear the media player list. I can't remember exactly how it's labeled, but you'll find it under the network settings. Clear the list and let it scan the network again.

On your computer, check the Status panel and see if Serviio is set to Auto or a specific IP address. It's a dropdown selection box. If it is set to auto, click the box and see if it lists the IP address you are currently running. You can find out your IP address by opening a command window and typing "ipconfig". Look for the line that says "IPv4 address".

For best results, your Serviio computer should have a static IP address, so this doesn't occur.

Re: Serviio suddenly not detected by TV

Thank you, refreshing the list of servers did the trick. I do have a static IP but I'm on wi-fi a lot as well (it's a laptop).
