Roku Player Issue

Hi, I have 2 Roku units in my house. Both are Model 4200X - Roku 3 running Software 7.1.0 and both are using the Roku profile. With one unit my video file plays fine, with the second unit I don't get any sound trying to play the same file. I wanted to ask if anyone can think of something I am missing between the 2 units that would cause one not to play sound. TIA.

There's a setting that differs in the Roku audio menu would be my guess. Compare the two and see what differs on the one that works. Are both connected via HDMI? Through an AVR or directly to your TV?

I have a 2 XS and an 4, and both play well. Of course, the 4 will play HD files without transcoding, as well as UHD, so I've built a separate profile for it. I don't know the abilities of the 3, so I can't say if it can support a bitstream higher than 14 Mbps like the 4 can.

Re: Roku Player Issue

Thank you for the information. Turns out there was a setting on the TV for audio, once I changed it from Auto detect to DTS the sound came through fine.
