Subtitle issue

Hi,

First of all thanks for reading this. I have been looking the forum for similar issues. I found them but none with a solution. Most because the poster did not upload the required log files.
I try to stream MKV files with embedded subtitels. It works for majority of the video files, but not for all.

Attached you'll find the ffmpeg -i output.
The stream I need is 0:3.

As you can see, there is no language specified
Stream #0:3: Subtitle: subrip

Windows mediaplayer does show the subtitels but they are labeled: Unidentified
However, I don't know if that is the issue because also the english subtitels do not appear.

I use Serviio PRO v 1.6.1 on my QNAP nas 453-A.
In the subtitle section of the console I tried to play around with the different options, but none of them made any difference.

I tried to stream to my XBOX one, My PS3 or TV and they all show the same behaviour.

Thanks in advance,

Yves

Re: Subtitle issue

ps: Not sure if it matters, but the ffmpeg command is executed from my PC, not from my NAS.

Re: Subtitle issue

Yeah, that won't work if there is no language specifier. You'd have to remux the file and give the stream a language code.

Re: Subtitle issue

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping to avoid that :)
But it still doesn't explain for me why English is not working either...
