Multilang selection & ISO Support problem
Hello,
I switched over from Universal Media Server because the support was pretty much non-existent and their software is real broken. (No seeking when video is transcoded, thumbnails not cached, crashing problems with ffmpeg, some file-formats are not played, stability issues while playing/pausing, vlc for ios can't browse the directory tree and so on...)
Yesterday I installed serviio and I'm really impressed how polished it is now. Almost all files are played without problems and finally I can seek :')
The only issue I have with serviio is ISO-Playback. Since it isn't supported I don't know what to do. I have many clean dumps where the copyprotection is not removed and I can't just copy the videofiles to disk.
The only way to play the ISO is if it's read directly like mencoder does. I tried to get rid of the copy protection and play them through ffmpeg instead. This worked partly and only when I disable media "stacking". Because with the feature on the file(s) will play on Apple devices but not on Samsung TV (timeout issue with transcoding the file I think). When I disable this, the files play in 20mins timeframes (The Video on DVD is splitted in 1GB chunks). That would be okay but the Audio-Tracks for the languages is changed after every file. So e.g. on Part1 of the video the audiotrack 2 is for my language and on Part2 its audiotrack 5.
I would be forced to stop the playback every 20mins and search for the right audiotrack (+ I need to crack every ISO I have and unpack it). This is a no-go for me and transcoding to mp4 is not an option for me
So please think about those two features I wish to be added:
- ISO support like mencoder does (with seek support or chapter select would be great)
- default language selection for files with multi audiotracks
If somebody has workarounds for this kind of problem I would be glad to hear it.
Greetings GothicIII
