Video not found when not logged in

Hello everyone,

I have a Serviio installed on a MacOS Sierra. To see the Serviio DLNA service from my TV, the folders, the filenames etc. I just need to start my iMac (login screen), no problem. But, to be able to launch the movie, I must log into my Apple session. If not, I get a message "Video not playable / not found".

I thought Serviio was installed as a service and it does not matter if I'm logged in or not... ? Last thing : my library is on a USB external drive.

Thanks for your support and your ideas.

Re: Video not found when not logged in

This sounds like a permissions issue. Yes, Serviio installs as a service. But on a Mac I'm not certain what user account the service runs as. On Windows, the user account Serviio uses by default has no permission to access network assets, and might be restricted with some local locations as well. Again, I'm uncertain of how the change the user account on a Mac, but change it to your login account and Serviio can then access everything your user account can access.

Re: Video not found when not logged in

Suspect your USB drive doesn't mount until after you have logged in. You can browse the library before logging in as that information is held in a database on your local drive (which the Serviio service can access), but when you go to play the movie it's not available (as the Serviio service then needs to access the USB which hasn't yet mounted)

I'm not a MAC user but a quick search found this: http://knowledgebase.tolisgroup.com/?Vi ... ntryID=103 - but looking at Google there seems a lot of ways to achieve this. MAC users on the forum may be able to tell you the best method.
