2.0 Pro Hiow do you get it to work!

I had the previous and it worked wonderfully. Did everything I wanted it to do.

I decided to purchase the new version and installed it.

Now I have nothing. I can watch or stream nothing, it is not visible to any of my devices.

Why was it changed it worked.

How do I stream content on my PC to my in home devices?

yes, I have added the appropriate folder. The home screen tells me I have 91 shows. Yet, nothing is listed or displayed anywhere.

Servio is also not visible to any of my devices despite everything connected to same Wifi.

How do I view my shows and stream them to my devices?

I used to be able to select SERVIO on my TV as the SOURCE and then pick what I wanted to watch. Now I can't. How do I watch shows on my TV???

Re: 2.0 Pro How do you get it to work!

Something is blocking Serviio from being seen on the network. This question is, is it being done by the OS (firewall, some other program using the same ports), or is Serviio running correctly? The first thing to look at is your Serviio log. So if you could upload it here that would help.

Does your computer have more than one network interface? If so, Serviio might be using the wrong one. You can set that manually in the console at the bottom of the Status tab.

Beyond that we would have to look at your log and see if Serviio is loading properly.

Can you connect to MediaBrowser from a computer on your network other than the Serviio computer?

On a Windows PC, the log is found in the C:\Program Files\Serviio\Log folder. With a different OS, the file structure is the same once you find the Serviio install location. I can't help there.

To access MediaBrowser from another computer, you need to know the Serviio computer's IP address, then you use a web browser to go to http://ip_address:23424/MediaBrowser.

Re: 2.0 Pro Hiow do you get it to work!

Ok found the Log

Now how do I find the Servers IP address?

When I follow your link, I get;

This site can’t be reachedip_address’s server IP address could not be found.
Try:

Checking the connection
Checking the proxy, firewall, and DNS configuration
Running Windows Network Diagnostics

And, how do I see the Videos that Serviio has in it's Library? That too used to be easy and readily viewable in Serviio.

Thanks

PS It used to be so easy why did you make it so difficult?

Re: 2.0 Pro Hiow do you get it to work!

First, I don't work for Serviio. I'm just another user like yourself. :)

Finding out what the computer IP address is differs by your operating system. For Windows, open a command prompt window and type ipconfig. In all the data that appears, find this line:
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.32

The four segment number is your IP address. Every device on your network will have a number that looks just each other, except for the last segment, which is unique per device. Once you have the number, then you use it in that link I gave you instead of the word "ip_address".

Viewing the media in your library have never changed. MediaBrowser has always been the only way to view your library, and it's always been accessed the same way. The instructions I gave with the link is just to do it from a computer other than the Serviio computer, which has a link on the console to open it there.

Re: 2.0 Pro Hiow do you get it to work!

Thanks Dan

This is way too complicated. Not that I can't figure it out, but I shouldnt have to.

I don't have the time to play with this.

Serviio worked just fine before without having to do all these procedures and "programming". It was simple. Select Serviio as the SOURCE on my TV, scroll through my folders and files and press play. That simple. Now I have to find IP addresses, edit debugging and Logs all of which do nothing to make Serviio viewable on my TV.

WIndows Media Server I discovered (thanks to this non functional version of Serviio) works just fine and requires none of these extra tasks.

I am going to cancel my payment and request a refund.

What used to work wonderfully is now a joke.

Thanks Dan

Re: 2.0 Pro Hiow do you get it to work!

I am having the same glitch since updating to version 2.0. I have since gone back to version 1.10 and every thing works fine. For me it was only a problem on my browser connections while my Samsung 8 series worked ok and I could see all my files. I am running OSX 10.14.6 on my server and my laptop neither of which can view the files in Serviio 2.0 using any flavor browser. Version 1.10 seems to be the end of the road for me unless this gets fixed.

Re: 2.0 Pro Hiow do you get it to work!

doesn't it say in the instructions for installing serviio to use static ip and bind to ip address? I always did that and it always worked but never read the instructions I don't know if it's in there, should be.
