Getting Issue While Starting Serviio

Hello, all
When I click on the serviio icon there is a space for a tick next to "open at login". When I start up my iMac I often get a message saying "Unable to connect to server" and the "tick" has disappeared. I then replace the "tick" and restart my computer. Usually, I only have to do this once or twice before I get logged on. Other applications which offer this facility work every time. Why is my computer having this problem? read more OmegleTV

Re: Getting Issue While Starting Serviio

I'm not familiar with the MacOS, so I can only offer some basic info.

Serviio runs as a background service. I believe what you are attempting to open is the console. You can't open the console until the service has completed start up. With that box checked, it's probably trying to start the console before the service is running. Windows doesn't offer that checkbox, so it's likely something in the MacOS that is generating it.

There's no need for the console to be open to use Serviio. If you go to your TV or other player and see Serviio as an available source, then the Serviio service is running and your player can connect and stream your media. The console is only used for configuration. So there's no need to check that box to start Serviio at login.
