Re: Extra Instances

That looks like what I've seen on a Sony playback device. If so, you can remove it by going into the settings and find (I'm going from memory here) Connection Servers and remove the grayed out entries.

What causes it? Your Serviio computer most likely is not running a static IP, and is on occasion getting a new IP address from your router. Your screen shows IPv6 addresses, one one is different from the others. I can't say why it has three entries with the same IP address, but it's possible your Serviio computer kept its IPv6 address and received a new IPv4 address. Sony players retain a "memory" of every server they've seen, regardless if it's still on the network or if the MAC address remains the same. The MAC address is hard-coded into the network adapter in your computer, so it never changes. But Serviio uses the IP address, and Sony does as well. So if the IP address changes, the old one remains in the Sony window, but grayed out as you can see.

With media servers, it's best to run a static IP address on your computer. If you are unfamiliar with that, you can find a large number of help pages on the web to guide you. I will say you need to assign a static IP that the router won't try to use for another device (you can't have more than one device with the same IP address), and you have to assign the address from the same range your router is using. I won't go into the technical details about IP routing, but it gets very complicated to make it work if you aren't in the correct range.
