Serviio Server stops

I have a system that I have tried 3 versions of Serviio 1.7 1.91 and 2.0. I have used serviio on my main computer for several years with no problem. I backed up my media on a 8 bay Raid 0 spanning and then moved it over to another computer. Serviio will not start automatically. And if I start it manually, it will shut off after a period of time. Order of testing was 1.91 then 2.0, then 1.7. They were removed each time with a third party Revo Uninstaller to try to get all lines of code that may have been written each time. The server is off right now, I could go over and start it manually, but it will shut off again at some time. When it is on, it is seen on the network. Connection to the hard drive tower is via a esata cable and a silicon image 3120 esata card with port multiplier. HD case is a Mediasonic 8 bay esata/usb 3.0 device. comments or suggestions please.

Re: Serviio Server stops

Probably need to see the Serviio log. Assuming your OS is Windows, you could also try changing the settings in the services applet. On the Recovery tab, the default settings after a failure is Take No Action. You can change this to Restart the Service. Change all three to restart. This naturally will only help if it's not being shut down properly. The Serviio log should show if it's crashing for some reason.

Exactly how long will it remain running before it stops?

Re: Serviio Server stops

Just read your reply. Got overwhelmed, with other issues. First the 8 bay array had one bad drive. That has been replaced, and most recently my main computer started blue screening. Recovery (W10) was not successful. Long story short, I decided to replace the video card and the C drive SSD. With luck it should be taken care of. Memory corruption was quoted as a possible problem. Video memory, computer memory, cache memory on the hard drive???? Oh well. System is now rebuilt and running. The 8 Bay on the secondary system has bee reloaded after installing a replacement hard drive in the array, rebuilding and backing up all of the my videos. It is running fine on the secondary system.

Two questions, I found the serviio logs. I looked in services.msc but did not find any "recovery or Windows recovery applets" Went throgh the Serviio program folder and could not find a stand alone services applet?? Location? DISREGARD just searched for Serviio Service and located the Recovery options you mentioned.

Thanks, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner!!!!!!!! 8^)
