MultiTV/ Video-art by DLNA, possibile with Serviio?

Hi, my friend has built a fast food, he's using 3 TV 32" to show clients the menu, offers, and so on, using an USB stick for each TV.
He has goal to show separate contents (the TV don't have to "extend image" on the next TV), sincronized by time, there can be foto or videos. The TV are connected by ethernet cable under the same LAN of computer he would use to run Serviio, he is bored to take the staircase, go up to all tv, remove the stick, update it and place it again, he would use an automatic system using network.
There are different ways to achieve the goal, I suppose, one is to push on that particulat TV a DLNA content, for example a photo, wait for some senconds and send another, then a video, etc. The goal is to create a playlist where we can (luckly) specify how much time for each line before jump to the next content, and loop. For 3 different TV (2 different IP). This is the best solution IMHO because has very low risk of malfunctions, while the PC is pushing DLNA is always stimulating TV to show it, while stremiang, when quit, can be corrected only manually on TV to join again the server.

The second way is streaming, but this require to encode a video, or better say.. 3 videos, with chances to loose the stream and play it again manually.

If Serviio is not able to do what I need, may you kindly suggest me a solution? The TV are Android, maybe there is an app for that? Thank you!

I believe Serviio can be the source for what your friend desires, but it's going to be up to the display about the timing of an image slideshow. The server doesn't "send" the images to the display, it's simply the source of the images and the display controls everything else.

I just tested a Roku player on the TV beside me at the moment. The Roku Media Player will perform a slideshow of images, and once the slideshow starts you can adjust the speed as slow, medium and fast. It started in medium, and if I timed it correctly it was 7-8 seconds per image. I changed it to slow and it was about 12 seconds per image. If your friend either used Roku TVs or added a Roku streaming Stick to each TV, you would have the same functionality. The TV I used is an LG Smart TV, but for whatever reason I could not connect it to either of my Serviio machines, or my HDHomeRun, which also appears as a DLNA source.

So, will Serviio work for your friend? I believe it will. But the functionality of the image display will depend on the TV/display itself. Serviio simply works as the media source.

You mentioned the TVs are Android based. There should be a number of apps that will work as a player for Serviio provided media. Take a look at VLC for starters, although I have never tried using that app for image slide shows, so no idea what sort of options it might have for image timing.
