ps3 doesn't detect files from Serviio

I've read all the helpless FAQ, and the useless wiki page, etc. I've browsed this forum for hours looking for a similar problem to no avail, so here it is--

I can not get any files to show up in Playstation 3 from Serviio (win7). No Video, Audio (mp3, flac, ogg, etc).

I've shared (with full permissions) all the directories that are added in Serviio console. I've restarted, stop and started the process, ran, refreshed, and re-added every path and every directory. Files don't show up.

The only thing that shows up are the pre-listed directories: Albums, Artists, Folders, Playlist, etc.

I've even added a network path (\\192.168.1.6\shared) with files. They don't show up either.

Under the playlist directory it shows the .m3u playlist files within the shared directory, but it will not play them.

I receive "No titles found." in every folder and in every playlist file.

The strange thing is, the Online Source as Live Stream (i.e. NASA TV http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/N ... c-IPS.m3u8) will show up under Video > Online and play for awhile. However, live Audio streams (that are tested okay with a green check mark and added) do not even show up under Audio > Online (i.e. audio live stream: http://pub3.di.fm:80/di_ambient).

I haven't the slightest idea what to do. It simply doesn't want to work. PS3 is obviously detecting the DNLA server, but it will not detect the files in the locations I have specified for sharing. The server status: Running, Library status: Shows files being listed/updated. Encoding is UTF-8.

What exactly is wrong. What am I missing?

Any ideas (outside of check the FAQ) would be great!

Re: ps3 doesn't detect files from Serviio

First:

  • Can you see the media in Mediabrowser (http://localhost:23424/mediabrowser)?
  • Check under the Folders category - is there anything there?
  • Check that you have selected the relevant media type to be shared for your shared folders - check the "ticks" in Serviio Console, Library, Shared folders.
  • Have you set device to use the PS3 Profile (Status tab)?
  • Where is your media located - on a local drive (on the same PC as Serviio) or on a remote drive (USB or network)?
To see if its permissions related, turn on detailed logging (click link to find out how) and do a Force Refresh. Open the log file and see what it says about adding the files (post a bit of the log here if you are unsure).

If it is a access rights issue, you have a number of ways to fix it depending on whether the share is local or remote, and what filesystem is being used on the shared folder.
