Question about "Titles" Video feature

Hey guys,

I love Serviio, but one of my biggest problems is trying to browse through my large movie collection folder. I have over 700 titles in one folder, so let's say I want to get in the middle somewhere, doing NextPage to get all the way there takes forever.

Then, a miracle appeared...

I noticed the "TItles" feature is alphabetized! Amazing... but the problem is:

If you select "S" for Saw, the folder will pop out anything with a word starting in S in the title. So it will even do: The Shawshank Redemption.
This doesn't help my case as it still creates a mess rather than just the titles STARTING with "S"

Is there any workaround for this? Is there a faster way to browse through pages? Even a search feature would be ideal, but my SmartTV Samsung only searches online sources and not through Serviio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike / Toronto

Re: Question about "Titles" Video feature

I think the Samsung should be able to skip several pages with the >> button, or similar.

Otherwise your example is correct, 'The' is skipped when sorting titles.

Re: Question about "Titles" Video feature

I checked all over the Samsun remote. The only options I have is Next Page which does a crawling-page down and is ultimately too slow to scroll past hundreds of files.

I figure the title sorting ignores the word "The" but it also throws in Anything that contacts the letter "S" for example in the title. Whereas it should only do it with the titles that Start with S.

Example,

Discovery.Channel.Pirate.School.mkv - It will list this in the S section even though its only one of the words.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to narrow this down easier so i can quickly find something I'm looking for?

Do you have metadata on? If yes, what is the Title you see? Or is it this file name?

Re: Question about "Titles" Video feature

I never changed the Metadata option, but i just looked and Yes - It was enabled by default.
With Metadata enabled, I would still get Discovery.Channel.Pirate.School.mkv (yes that's the name of the file/folder) in my "S" Titles directory.

Should I try disabling Metadata? You think it will properly alphabetize everything?

Also is there a way to search through all of my serviio directories?

It works with metadata. I'll check if you found a bug...

Can you enable detailed logging and try to browse to the Titles folder, then post the log here?

Re: Question about "Titles" Video feature

Zip: Question, is there a way to ignore "Titles" for certain paths?

ie: I have my TV Series Dir added my Movies Dir
So if i choose "S" it will list anything with S out of my whole collection, so it can be annoying sniffing through all my tv series when I only want to look for movies.

No, there is not.
