Loading and connection problems
I have just recently begun trying to use Serviio as opposed to all share. I have a samsung UA40ES6200 TV.
I am looking for a server where I can access files in the same way they are listed on my computer as opposed to adding them as a playlist/library. So I disabled all search options except 'folders' to allow me to do this. I also want to be able to stream my desktop live and I believe I should be able to do this with VLC and serviio soon. Basically Serviio seems to fit my needs although I'm having a few problems that I can't seem to get right.
Refreshing library: I am having issues with the library, It it normal for the files to require refreshing each time I turn on the TV? It seems to need this as without changing any files I will need to click 'refresh library' and wait a few mins for this to be updated before accessing files otherwise I get to a folder and it says 'media not found' Other problem is if I were to access a file then get out of it it seems to require refreshing again otherwise the same error will happen. I originally had the defualt setting of 5 mins each refresh but I changed it to 120mins as I thought the refresh may have had something to do with my next issue.
Pauses and loading issues: I access a file on the server and it takes about 20-30 sec to load initially. Once the video starts it pauses every 30 seconds or so for about 30 secs. before starting. Obviously I can't watch anything this way. I have ADSL 2+ in Australia, CPU usage was at 34% and network utilisation was contantly flicking between about 27-40% and had occasional spikes above that, though one spike did read 99%. Not sure if this is the problem??
Other sharing options: Can I use Serviio to stream FROM iphone to TV? When accessing the 'All Share' button to access serviio I also see Windows media player as an option (which doesn't seem to work). I turned off network sharing on my computer and this has stopped this option showing up as I thought this may be interferring. I also deleted All share from the PC. Not sure if I need to have 'sharing' on the desktop as Serviio seems to access the desktop fine with it turned off.

Two serviio consoles often open: I sometimes go to open to console that has auto started with an icon in the desktop tray. When I click to open a second one often opens and I'm not sure if this interferes? I close one down and it occasionally freezes the console.
I thought much of it may stem from the router/modem set up (Maybe?) yet I'm not keen to change it if it wont change a thing and is not the actual issue
