Having problems streaming mp4 files

I have found that it is hit and miss when I stream .mp4 files from a computer to my TV. Sometimes the files play in their entirety and at other times, the video file will play for a short period of time and them just stop.

Has anyone ever encountered something like this and is there a resolution?
