Windows XP firewall
I've been having issues getting my Sony 40EX640 Bravia to communicate with Serviio with the XP firewall turned on. I have tried all of the suggestions found on the forums: open certain ports, router settings, bound ip, etc, etc and nothing has worked except for disabling the firewall.
However, I have found out through trial and error that if I enable 'ICMP/Allow incoming echo request' in the XP firewall that Serviio connects successfully with the firewall enabled. It's not the best solution, I know, but it's better than completely turning off the firewall and you can turn off the ping requests when done using Serviio.
You can find the setting here:
Control Panel/Network Connections/Local Area Connection/Properties/Advanced/Settings/Advanced/ICMP Settings/Allow incoming echo request
