Browser on sony tv ?

Hi,

I'm starting just now with serviio and haven't been able to connect it to the tv just yet but I will this evening.

Just a quick question really, is it possible to browse the videos on the tv with tv controls ?
I got a sony Bravia tv which is one year old now, not sure about the nr. of the series though.

also, can serviio run by itself on a NAS, with the pc turned off ?

thanks

Nick.

Re: Browser on sony tv ?

if your TV supports DNLA then yes, you should be able to browse to the media server on your TV itself as long as you have it on the same network as your serviio server.

There are certain NAS devices that support serviio directly, others take some work to get running.

Re: Browser on sony tv ?

managed to get it working through the Sony Bravia menus itself, testing the browser is on schedule this evening.

This is really awesome software, I used an external iomega HD which stutters and really is worth nothing.
Discovering this software is really an eye-opener.
