Elimlinating Windows 7 boxes from renderer list?

I would like to eliminate (permanently) all of my PCs running Windows 7 from Serviio's renderer list. Is there a way to do it? Or perhaps more generally, what is the mechanism by which Windows 7 is reporting itself to be a renderer? I have disabled (actually removed) all Windows Media functionality from the PCs, but this does not appear to make a difference to Serviio.

I note that the lone XP box I still have does *not* report itself to Serviio. I don't know if that's expected behavior or if I changed something at some point. Thanks for your help.

i don't think XP does dlna unless you are running the media center version. I am not sure what setting in 7 controls whether they reports themselves as dlna devices, but maybe check and see if the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" is running?

It's WMP as it's a UPnP renderer / controller. So you'd have to turn off the media sharing services in Win.

Re: Elimlinating Windows 7 boxes from renderer list?

Thank you. I had assumed it was WMP, so I had already removed all trace of the win 7 media functions (via the "Turn Windows features on or off" panel from the "uninstall or change a program" under the control panel). So not only is the media sharing not running, it doesn't even show up on the service list anymore.

But the entries remain in Serviio - I can delete them, but they come back again. That's what has me puzzled.
