Movies play fine on the LAN but not at all on the WAN

Hello Serviio forum,

I have been using Serviio for years and I love it. But I am having trouble getting the media browser to play movie files (mostly .ts) when outside of my LAN on my iPad (using the Internet) but these same movies will play fine locally (inside my LAN), using Firefox locally on my desktop computer (LAN) and I use Safari on my iPad when playing movies using the Internet (WAN). The movies will not play on my iPad using the Internet or by putting my iPad in wifi mode in my LAN. Eather way, WAN or LAN, they won't play on my iPad (Safari) . Should I try a different browser in my iPad when playing movies on the WAN or LAN?

There is a slash mark going through the play arrow located in the center of the video screen when I try to play a movie on my iPad (Safari) using either the WAN (Internet) or the LAN (locally).

My other media files play fine on the WAN or LAN such as images and music.

UPDATE

They won't play on Firefox either using the iPad.
I have seen others post that https://speedtestfast.com is inaccurate, but I have always thought it to be quite good. And if its off by anything ping wise, its usually no more than 4-5 ms.

Since you've already tried Firefox, you might give Chrome a try. However, if it's playing fine within your LAN but encounter issues outside your LAN, you need to determine if your Internet upload speed is sufficient for streaming. While some people have the same speed up and down, most Internet connections are asynchronous, with far lower upload speeds. I have almost 90 Mbps down, but only 10 Mbps up. That's enough for full quality SD (DVD quality), but not for HD or UHD streaming. The media would have to be set to a lower quality setting in MediaBrowser to play without buffering.

In MediaBrowser, at the very bottom right of the player window, you can click and select the video quality: Original, Medium or Low. You might try those settings and see if it makes a difference.
