DLNA noob wants to transcode FLAC to LPCM (or mp3)

Hi,

I have a LG BD670 Bluray player that streams DLNA. I just discovered DLNA streaming and I've had the thing for nearly 2 years. I'm also an audiophile. While at the PC, my equipment is top notch and I only listen to lossless audio. WAV files suffer from constant bitrates, so I went with the lossless variable bitrate alternative in FLAC. I have over 700 CDs on my PC in FLAC, so I'm not about to try to re-rip everything. I'm wondering how to transcode the FLACs to LPCM or mp3 for playing on my BD670. I tried loading the LG profile in the console but no dice.

Here is the output of the Sink thing from DeviceSpy:

http-get:*:audio/l16;rate=44100;channels=1:DLNA.ORG_PN=LPCM,http-get:*:audio/l16;rate=44100;channels=2:DLNA.ORG_PN=LPCM,http-get:*:audio/l16;rate=48000;channels=1:DLNA.ORG_PN=LPCM,http-get:*:audio/l16;rate=48000;channels=2:DLNA.ORG_PN=LPCM,http-get:*:audio/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MP3,http-get:*:image/jpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=JPEG_SM,http-get:*:image/jpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=JPEG_MED,http-get:*:image/jpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=JPEG_LRG,http-get:*:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL,http-get:*:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_NTSC,http-get:*:video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_NA,http-get:*:video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_NA_T,http-get:*:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_NA_ISO,http-get:*:video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_KO,http-get:*:video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_KO_T,http-get:*:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_KO_ISO,http-get:*:video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_EU,http-get:*:video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_EU_T,http-get:*:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_EU_ISO,http-get:*:audio/mpegurl:*,http-get:*:audio/mp3:*,http-get:*:audio/wma:*,http-get:*:audio/x-ms-wma:*,http-get:*:audio/mp4:*,http-get:*:audio/mpeg:*,http-get:*:audio/wav:*,http-get:*:audio/mpeg3:*,http-get:*:video/x-ms-avi:*,http-get:*:video/mpeg:*,http-get:*:video/avi:*,http-get:*:video/mp4:*,http-get:*:video/x-matroska:*,http-get:*:video/quicktime:*

I'm totally new to this and I'm not sure what to do next. Can you all help?

I got it working with J River a few weeks ago, but had to reformat my hard-drive and I can't remember the settings I chose to get it working, and yes, I've googled around looking for solutions. It's driving me insane. Please help!

Many thanks!

Re: DLNA noob wants to transcode FLAC to LPCM (or mp3)

to start with, try the Sony 2012 profile.

Return to Transcoding
