MKV Fast forward

Hello,

Is there a way to get the fastforward feature working when transcoding MKV files? I dont have any problems with audio as i've set that to transcode in shark007 but is there a way i can transcode on the fly to mp4 or something so that fastforward/rewind will work?

I'm on the current version of serviio using the xbone profile...

thanks

Re: MKV Fast forward

It is dependent on the player, but in most cases transcoded files cannot perform trick play functions (ff/rewind/resume). HLS transcoding allows trick play with most media, but still not all. But in general, FF won't work with transcoding, regardless of container.
