Profile for Denon DBP 1611

Hello all,

I've just installed serviio and I'mtrying to use the network features on my shiny denon BD player.
I've attached the dlna certification for this player. Does it mean that I can't FF/rewind movies or music ?
What type of transcoding should I use for this ?

Thanks,
Marius

Forgot to mention: this device doesn't appear in Device Spy, so the dlna doc is all I've got...

Yea, it displays the folders, but when playing files it's more like hit&miss so far.
I've used the default (generic ?) profile.
When i get the time i'll try reading as many formats as I can and I'll post back the results.
So far I'm not very impressed with the device... It only recognized my 8gb usb stick, none of my 2 external drives was compatible.
Looks like streaming is the only viable solution.

some external drives may only work if formatted as fat32 with 1 partition.

The Denon's AVR doesn't support music FF/REW (you can jump only from one title to another / pause/ stop ) so by analogy (and only by that) i suppose that their blu-ray player can't do it for video and music too. :(
PS. As i can see from the sheet it can only plays an stops...

Re: Profile for Denon DBP 1611

I already have fat32 partitions. But the drives also mimic a CD drive for software installation. I guess I 'll have to live with it.
Back to transcoding profile:
LPCM is the only audio format supported. Does that mean that it can't even handle MP3s ?
What real-world format can I use for video ?

Re: Profile for Denon DBP 1611

As from the sheet only LPCM but you know that where serviio comes in action. Serviio can transcode flac ogg mp4 mp3 to LPCM (and in my opinion in this case it's better to have only LPCM support than 3 or 4 lossy format support because flac are lossless when transcoded to LPCM you won't have any loss in quality which is not the case for exemple with mp3s). For video try to transcode video files to m2ts container as i can see your device should support it.
PS. I will try to make a profile for your device :)
Here's a profile try it: http://www.mediafire.com/?jdbqd6tm1byu4f8
Put the xml file in the config folder

You're welcome :)
One question does serviio recognize automatically the device or you must set it yourself manually on the console?

Re: Profile for Denon DBP 1611

No, I had to choose the correct profile manually. I'm sorry I can't be of much help, although I'm familiar with IT/electronics, this upnp domain is quite new to me. If there's any procedure I can follow to improve on the profile, please let me know.

The Device sniffer show only this kind of packets from the Denon's address:
  Code:
Received 26.03.2012 at 18:35:12 (163)

M-SEARCH * HTTP/1.1
HOST: 239.255.255.250:1900
MAN: "ssdp:discover"

Install this software: http://opentools.homeip.net/dev-tools-for-upnp and scan for dlna devices then you will receive data that DLNA devices are sending. Choose your Denon BDP player and please give me the Manufacturer info and FriendlyName.

Re: Profile for Denon DBP 1611

Sorry for the long delay, various events kept me offline.
I already have the upnp suite installed, but the device doesn't show in any of the tools, except for the packet capture I pasted earlier...
