Transcoded file seeking

First and foremost, I must say this is by far the best media streaming software I've encountered. I was hoping someone could shed some light on the byte range seek vs. time-seek.

I have a new Sony Bravia TV and I'm using the default "Bravia (2011)" profile for it, and everything works fine with the exception of the seek function on transcoded file. Files that are natively supported by the TV fast forward and rewind as expected, however the if I try to pause, fast foreword or even rewind the transcoded .stf file the playback becomes unresponsive even if it has been completely transcoded.

Re: Transcoded file seeking

I find that the Sony Bluray does something similar to what you're describing. Sometimes it seems to completely freeze during seeking. I can normally get it to recover by hitting Play, waiting till it starts, then seeking again. Rewinding is pretty awful compared to Fast Forward though. Do you get similar results with other media servers, or have some of them got around this issue?
