Serviio web browser flowplayer

Currently playing content through the serviio web browser dose not work with the iPhone. I understand you use flow player. I stumbled across this fairly new movie site and they use flow player but the difference is when I navigate to there site on my iPhone is allow me to play the content.

Is this something you can look into as the serviio web browser will really be usefull then working on iPhones/ iPads.

Re: Serviio web browser flowplayer

Thanks for the reply zip

After looking more into making flowplayer work on the IOS it shouldn't be a problem, it's easier enough. There's even guides on there site explaining how its done. So why is this not a basic feature to the web browser.

Next I noticed in another thread that serviio Dosent/ can't transcode to h264 which is needed to play on the IOS. If thats the reason you havnt made the web browser compatible then surly it could play some of my media content that is already mp4 and wont need transcoding providing the changes are made to the flowplayer.

Lastly why can't serviio transcode to h264, to my knowledge you use ffmpeg to do all the transcoding. I no on Linux anyway that using either the libvpx or libx264 library with ffmpeg you are able to transcode to h264

Thanks

Re: Serviio web browser flowplayer

you can't play mpeg4 when transcoded into it on the fly. I'll look into supporting Apple HLS protocol, which should sort it out.
