Problem after upgrade to 1+ serviio .. mkv loading errors

I use a synology DS212.
I have several .mkv files (720p or lower) that used to run fine when i used the old serviio 0.6.

The problem now is that i get the "loading " problem.. .. impossible to watch some now. Bandwith is not an issue, its linked directly to router as it was before
Is that an item with serviio and ffmpeg? or settings ?

Baffles me a bit since it was fine on the old version.

(DSM has had an update since as well, but i reckon its all serviio related)

Re: Problem after upgrade to 1+ serviio .. mkv loading error

Seems it might be related to cpu usage due to downmix to stereo,... can that be correct?

Re: Problem after upgrade to 1+ serviio .. mkv loading error

Try to remove this line from the C/D/E profile:

  Code:
<Matches container="matroska" mkvHeaderCompressed="true" />

If that helps, please post Mediainfo result of the mkv file(s) so that I can fix it in the code, thanks.

No, only one instance of the console is available per one PC. You could use web UI to control the NAS server, or Serviidroid.

The files that used to play normally are both MKV.
Other MKV do play fine.

Both did not have issues playing with the old Servvio 0.6 version and the current java it had.

Additional note:

Tried to install samsung allshare on desktop (also wired to router and thus to tv , same as NAS)
And both files play flawlessly and fine with allshare (albeit from the desktop, whereas serviio runs on the nas) (Synology ds212+)

Re: Problem after upgrade to 1+ serviio .. mkv loading error

Seems to be confirmed error with Serviio with FFMPEG..

Since when i DISABLE the transcoding... the file plays fine.. with no load lags.. AND i can skip time again... same as with the old serviio 0.62

Only caveat: i now installed allshare.. disabled it on the pc...
hope serviio on the nas does not use the pc now:
2012-09-28 19:08:12,956 INFO [RendererManager] Stored a new renderer: uuid='be4a7820-1e05-116c-1000-94dbc90f15be', name = 'PC-AllShare', ipAddress='192.168.1.100', profile = '1'

2012-09-28 20:51:01,953 WARN [ProcessExecutor] Process /volume1/@appstore/Serviio/bin/ffmpeg has a return code of 137! This is a possible error.

But to me it seems the news serviio and the included ffmpeg ... have different settings from the old one and are indeed transcoding when there is no need for it

Re: Problem after upgrade to 1+ serviio .. mkv loading error

First of all, it looks like your FFmpeg is not right, do you have the latest one?

The first MKV has level 5.1 (in the header), which would normally mean the file is not playable on the Samsung. Obviously it's not correct value, so you could either chjange it to 4.1 (using this tool) or remove these lines from the c/d/e profile:

  Code:
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high" levelGreaterThan="4.2" />
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="main" levelGreaterThan="4.2" />

The second file is MKV with mpeg2 video, which is not that common, and it's set up for transcoding as well (probably based on someone reporting it's not working natively). You can remove this line not to transcode these files:

  Code:
<Matches container="matroska" vCodec="mpeg2video" />

Re: Problem after upgrade to 1+ serviio .. mkv loading error

TV is Samsung UE-40D6530

I used the synology package install through DSM from url , so should have had the ffmpeg that was compiled with it.
The update to 1.0.1 I also installed directly from DSM (212+ running latest DSM)

Installed from package center : two external places http://pcloadletter.comlu.com (think serviioo is served from that one) http://packages.synocomunity.com

Alternative since all play fine when NOT transcoding (including 1080P file posted below):
Does serviio use external rendering as well from the desktop that is also linked to the router? or not? Since it does show in log file that it found an external rendered in windows media player)

Since the file below is 1080p version of planet earth, which also had loading issues when transcoding was enabled, but plays fine with it disabled.

i'll modify it, only problem with testing it.. when re-enabling transcoding.. it'll go over the entire archive again,,, takes tons of time

and that 1080 file?

And still weird that the old ffmpeg build included with 0.6 was apparently less picky.

No it won't. Just malke sure the file is updated in the library (force refresh, rename, etc)

And still weird that the old ffmpeg build included with 0.6 was apparently less picky.

There has been a change in profile that's causing this. FFmpeg might be the cause as well though.

Well i am happy tro be computer savvy otherwise it degrades the serviio experience unnecessary. Surprised others did not report it previously, but indeed seems mostly profile related

Will change the header and filename and force refresh tonigh than.
