Can't play .3gp and .dat files on my Sony TV

Thanks to Serviio, my Sony TV (40CX520) shows .mkv, .flv and etc, but it does not show .3gp and .dat files. Any idea?!

I've updated the profiles for 1.0, you'll be able to play 3gp then.

Have you tried renaming .dat to .mpeg

Re: Can't play .3gp and .dat files on my Sony TV

Is 3gp working for Sony SMP N100? Do I need to edit the profile? I have updated to Version 1.01 and hoped it was working, but not.
This would be a really nice feature as I would be able to play recorded video from my phone easily. Great for home movies.

Re: Can't play .3gp and .dat files on my Sony TV

Thank you Zip for the quick reply...I am out of town until the 19th and I will post the results then. The symptom is when I navigate the SMP N100 to my phone directory for video, I get the message "there is no playable file". On my android phone I am using an app called pixel-dms to serve files to my SMP. Could that be where the problem lies? Is there a serviio app for android that will be a better choice? Thanks.

Make sure you assign the IP of the android phone the Sony BDP profile.
