Why can't servioo load catchup automatically?

I've been playing with serviio and the useful plugins such as itv and 4oD.
Great stuff, I mean it!
However I don't understand one thing: why individual tv programs (series) have to be set manually as web resource?
Wouldn't be easier to have serviio loading the list of all the programs available so that these can be launched from the dlna client (e.g. smartTV)?
I don't have the time resources to go and publish everything I'm willing/planning to watch, but I understand there might me technical limits so that's why I'm asking here.

Serviio has to get sme information about each file, so it'd have to basically scan the whole content of the online database. serviidb is designed to enable adding content in an easy way.
