Re: support serie F (2013)

No... but we could build a new profile there if you find that (for example) we don't have to transcode certain files any more. Also if it all works, I'll be able to rename the profile to C/D/E/F ;-)

I've only got MP4 and MKV files to test with, but both of those work.

I'm happy to try out anything you point me towards though.

Re: support serie F (2013)

Hi!

I have sound problems with Samsung C/D/E profile on my F8000 TV.
Everything was OK on ES8000, but on new tv, sound chopping or jamming time to time (I can't explain better:). Not all time.
And both - DTS or AC3 sound in MKV container.
It means something is different between E-serie and F-serie Samsung TV.
If I choose Generic profile or something else (I tried Philips etc), sound is OK, but then I can't use external subtitles. Only internal I can choose.
Is there profile I can try which recognizes external subtitles like Samsung profile?

P.S. And mini-pictures are gone after last firmware update (FW 1103) :(

Can you post ffmpeg -i for the file?

What if you disable transcoding and still use the Samsung profile?

IN that case there is no difference between Samsung and Generic - the files are served natively.

Re: support serie F (2013)

Hi,

I recently purchased an F6675 (previously I had a C series which worked perfectly with Serviio) running the lastest available firmware, to which I stream with Serviio on OSX with the C-D-E series profile. Playing and seeking seems to work nicely, however I have noticed certain problems:

* I cannot see any thumbnails for my movies.
* .srt subtitles and mkv-embedded subtitles seem to conflict. Mkv-embedded subtitles work (yay! they didn't on the C-series) but if an .mkv has embedded subtitles and also an accompanying .srt file, the .srt seems to be ignored (the only available subtitles during playback are the mkv-embedded ones).
* Resume video playback does not work (it's not available).

Zip, since I am aware you don't have access to an F-series TV, is there a way in which I can help you debug these problems with my own?

Re: support serie F (2013)

On my D-Series everything works fine.

Did'nt work on my new F5370:
Photos:
- Get only an Error while selecting any Photo-Folder

Videos:
- No Thumbs
- No Resume
- Forwarding only with Control-Cross on IR (no real FF, RW), Testet with MKV and TS Files
- No Time Search/Seek

Re: support serie F (2013)

Samsung have changed something in all new F-serie firmwares.
Today I updated my bluray player BD-F7500 and small pictures are gone.
Same story on the TV - after latest firmware update, small pics are gone.

Can you try with the Samsung AllShare server? Does that have all the original features?

Hi there. I have F-series, and serviio working just fine with serviio for windows and serviio on NAS (WD Live). I had this exact problem also when I setup both on windows and NAS. Actually you can view the files/videos if you browse "All Content" category (or other category I think), but doesnt show up when you browse Folder category.

-- For Windows --
The problem occurs for me because I share network folders with mapped drive (i.e. Z:/ for //hostname/Public). So, for the TV to be able to see files on folder view, you should choose "add path" in library, not "add local". use "//hostname/folder" path. This solution works for me for Serviio for Windows.

-- For Serviio on NAS --
I'm not sure what caused the problem, but I did reinstall serviio and install serviowebui v1.4beta (was using 1.2a when I had the problem), and re-add library via webUI.
Now both serviio server working without problem.

edit: and make sure you choose "Samsung C/D/E Series" profile if you have problems with sub (srt files). For me, the sub doesnt show up with Generic DLNA profile.

Hope this help.
Regards,

Re: support serie F (2013)

first i have to say serviio is a great tool and makes life much easier. samsung allshare was way too bad. never used it again once i discovered serviio.

last week i got a new TV. a samsung UE46F6500 replaced my LE40C650. serviio worked pretty well with my old TV, but there seem to be some issues with the new one. i am using 1.2.1 and didn't change anything settingswise. just connected the new TV and still using C/D/E profile. i am aware some points or most of them might be porblems which need to be adressed by samsung. just listing them in case they ain't.

- no covers/artwork is shown with movies/tv-series (worked wirh c650). i can browse all folders and play all files, but no descriptive metadata is shown. please, please fix this :ugeek:

- no "real" fast forward. if i press the forward key only 10 second jumps are possible. with the old tv - if i kept the button pressed - the video jumped forward something like 5 minutes every few seconds. this worked with every file. didn't have to remux or something. never had a mkv which i couldn't fast forward. you can use the search function though from samsung to jump forward in the timeline.

- lip sync issues, but i guess that is a problem to be adressed by samsung (sound is about 150ms off with most video files)

- if i sort my movies in the "last viewed" folder on my samsung tv by date, the mediaplayer crashes and can't reconnect to serviio. i have to reset the tv to factorysettings in order to use serviio again. kind of stupid that the "last viewd" & "last added"section is in alphabetical order and can't be changed to sort by date. but i guess this is also a samsung problem.

- subtitles are automatically played by the tv if there are any in the mkv. you have to turn them off with every video and every time, which is super stupid. thxs samsung.

Do they work from any other server, especially AllShare?

For the other things, do you have the same problems with Generic profile?

Re: support serie F (2013)

I have a Samsung UE40-F6470 newest FW 1107.4. Video playback using Serviio 1.2.1 works, however the (for me very very important) navigation using folders causes an error (media play). Thus, i would like to test the newest beta version to see if that works better :)

What doesn't work for you? You didn't provide any details.
