BDP S790 - Can't play DTS HD?

Hello,
I keep having problems playing DTS HD via serviio, it crashes after a few minutes.
Below is an example of such a file. BD discs with DTS HD work fine.

What do you think?

Bump...

Serviio uses ffmpeg binaries to transcode. I thought I read that ffmpeg doesn't support DTS-HD yet.

What you can do, is find the command to transcode the file from command prompt, using the serviio included ffmpeg binary and see what error it spits out. That error may tell you that it doesn't support that audio format, or maybe it's something else.

You can download a newer version of the ffmpeg binaries than the ones included with serviio and put them in place for serviio to use and see if the error goes away. I've had that resolve issues in the past, just not with DTS-HD.

I've avoided this by remuxing my bluray mkv's using the DD or DTS track, but ignoring the DTS-HD track. I probably wouldn't notice the loss of audio quality on my setup anyways.

At the moment these video's should be passed through without invoking ffmpeg, according to the profile at least. You can check this by seeing if ffmpeg is running in your task list when streaming this file (ensure you check "Show processes from all users").

In any case let's try it - temporarily switch from the Sony BDP-Sx90 (2012) to the Sony BDP-Sx70/SMP-N100 (2010) profile (and press Save ) This profile will transcode the DTS audio to AC3 and re-wrap into a mpeg2 container. Video quality is not affected. Give it a try and let us know - this may then help point to the solution.

I bet sony doesn't allow the DLNA to decode DTS-HD or DTS-MA. Wouldn't that work around HDCP? I bet the firmware is the culprit.
