With a generic profile, it plays flawlessly, but my TV keeps displaying "unsupported content" or something close (in french).
With a bravia 2013 profile, TV doesn't display anything, but the video is really choppy.

This is the debug file, can you help me to understand if things can be better?

I'm not sure to understand, does your mkv file play with Generic Profile on your sony Bravia W650A ?

Re: Strange results on Bravia

Yes it plays with generic profile, but the TV displays an error message during all the movie.
I think it's a problem regarding the second audio stream.

Re: Strange results on Bravia

According to this http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=get_h264_level
1920x1080x5/256 = 40500 > 34816
Your h264 profile level is 5.0, greater than 4.2
That probably why your file was transcoded with the 2013 profile, but you said that with the generic profile, it play, so we could try to change the 2013 profile like this:
  Code:
...
   <Transcoding>
      <!-- Transcode all h264 video with HIGH/MAIN > Level 4.2 on MPEG-TS stream with MPEG2VIDEO and ac3 audio transcoding -->
      <!-- expected profile MPEG_TS_SD_EU/MPEG_TS_SD_NA/MPEG_TS_SD_KO -->
      <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" DAR="16:9" forceInheritance="true">
         <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high_10" />
         <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high_444" />
         <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high_422" />
         <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high" levelGreaterThan="5.0" />
         <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="main" levelGreaterThan="5.0" />
         <Matches container="*" vCodec="h263" />
      </Video>
...

Edit the profiles.xml file, save, and restart serviio service (not server) or reboot your PC. Then check with serviio log that your file will play in native format.

For the problem with "unsupported" message.
- You can try to rebuild your mkv file with mkvtoolnix
- You can also try with same tool to remove the some audio track, or sub...

Re: Strange results on Bravia

Thank you, it works without transcoding.
But I don't understand : the file is read perfectly, but the TV still displays its horrible message.
I have try to remove everything except the video (even the audio stream) and the problem remain the same.
I think Bravia 2013 supports unofficially this version of encoding but continues to display the warning message...

I think that Sony Bravia does not officially support h264 with profile level 5.0 (max should be 4.2 as expected in the 2013 profile).
In certain conditions, video will be displayed but sony add a warning message...

So we have to transcode to mpeg2video, but you said that result is very "choppy".
What do you mean by very "choppy ?

Re: Strange results on Bravia

Sorry I don't have the word, I am french ;o)
I mean, the video is not fluid, it lags. But I think it comes from my computer, witch is not so young.
With an i5 or i7, I will not have any problem I think...

Yes, that could be the reason...a low cpu power.
You can check by:
Trying loccaly the same ffmpeg command line in a windows terminal:
  Code:
"C:\Program Files\Serviio\bin\\..\lib/ffmpeg.exe" -threads auto -i "G:\Films HD\Europa.Report.mkv" -y -threads auto -c:v mpeg2video -pix_fmt yuv420p -qscale:v 1 -r 24000/1001 -g 15 -c:a copy -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -sn -f mpegts "C:\Windows\TEMP\Serviio\TEST.ts"

and check the ffmpeg process rate (fps), it should be twice x2/x3 the video framerate 23,976 im/s
