Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

Following a loss of service from TalkTalk, I've found my Router (Speedtouch 585 v6) has suffered total amnesia.
It reverted to the standard SSID "Speedtouch A96E54" or some such and there was no record of connected devices.
I've managed to re-name the Standard SSID to the one I had before, but the router has re-named it "Hexeta 2 (Hexeta)"
Using the TV Connection check, I get the following:-
Method: Wireless Built in
Wireless Device: OK
SSID: Hexeta
Signal Strength: (Shows a full bar graph)
Security: WPA-PSK (Tkip)
IP Address Setting: Auto
IP Address: 192.168.1.64
Subnet mask: 225.225.225.0
Default Gateway: 192:168:1:254
Primary DNS: 192:168:1:254
2nd DNS: 0.0.0.0
Mac Address: OO:AO:96:55:D5:D7
Proxy: Not Used.

However the TV cannot access the server.
Doing a "Server Diagnostics" check, shows two entries:-
"Succeeded - 1 Failed - 1"
Details as follows:-
The "Succeeded" Entry:
Server is accessible.
Server Geoff-PC1:ADMIN (Note, I have already Re-named this to "Geoffs-Vista-PC", but the TV has not seen it.)
UDN: UUID: d753f352-705d-4afa-b0c2-d0ae3250d...
IP Address: 192.168.1.65
MAC Address: 00:15:af:86:da:31
TCP Port: 2869

The "Failed" Entry:
Server Name Unknown (192.168.1.65)
UDN: uuid:d:19c78b-bb57-3238-a2e7-a907bb7...
MAC Address: Info Not Available
TCP Port: 8895

TV still cannot access either the PC or Serviio.
Can you sort me out?

Edit: I also notice that the "Wireless access point" is configured to "Allow multicast from Broadband Network:"....not sure what that means, or if it was there before!

Edit, Edit!: Further grubbing around uncovers that my network is set to "Public", I can see how to change this to "Private", but googling it, suggests that doing so will make Permanent changes to my firewall settings
What do I do?

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

Can you rename your serviio.log file and then restart serviio and paste the new log on here.

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

Hi moltra, had the devil's own job starting Serviio again after stopping it so that I could re-name the log file.
You can probably see that from the new log posted below.
Still unable to connect TV to Serviio, the icon is greyed out on the TV, strangely, the Icon for my PC is "active", but though the TV can "see" the folder structure and the file titles, the thumbnails are just generic and it cannot connect saying check settings.

Subnet mask is strange, may be 255.255.255.0

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

you are right the subnet probably should be 255.255.255.0 and I am use to seeing the gateway the same as the router IP. Mine is 192.168.2.1 for router and gateway.

Serviio is using 192.168.1.65 so it should be ok for the TV to see it.

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

Sorry Illico, You are right, my mistake, 255:255:255.
My sloppy reading!
Can't understand why TV cannot see PC especially since :-
"Network Setup>View Network Status>Check Connection" results in "OK" for Wireless device, Local Access, and Internet Access.
I can access Youtube, so that confirms "Wireless Device" and "Internet Access" are working, just local that's the problem.
Got to be something in my Router settings I suppose, 'cos that is all that has been altered!

Don't understand, mine reports:- Default Gateway and Primary DNS as being the same (192:168:1:254)
Is the "Primary DNS" the Router?

Either way, I still can't get TV to see PC!

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

Make sure that the ports are open on your computer.

My device doesn't see Serviio

  Code:
This could be caused by you having multiple IP addresses on the machine and Serviio binding to a wrong one. Insert IP address of the machine running Serviio into 'Bound IP address' field in Network Settings section in the console or pass system variable serviio.boundAddr including the IP address when starting the server.

Also make sure that TCP port 8895 and UDP 1900 are open in your firewall.

If you are on a Linux based OS, make sure you set up multicast routes properly.

If on Windows, you can push Serviio service down in starting order.

Also see if there is a UPNP setting on your router. some need it check and some need it unchecked.

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

The "Games and Application Sharing" page of my Router says:-
Use UPnP: Yes
Use Extended Security: No
There is a table below, and that just says "No games or applications assigned"

The "Wireless Access Point" config page has a box ticked which I can't say I've seen before, it says "Allow multicast from Broadband Network" ???
Also, in Windows, under "Set Network Location" there are two radio buttons, one for "Public" and one for "Private", "Public" has been selected....could this be part of the problem?

How so? :o
I'm using it now, and the TV can also access the net with it.
The only thing that don't seem to work with it is the local link.
The TV can't see either the PC, or Serviio.
Just typing this has lit up another bulb in my head!
I'm just going to look at the console to see if the correct addresses are being sought!

yer that would make sense sound like the multicasting/UPNP function arent working, either they have failed as i suspect as router reset itself or they are just not configured correctly.

Re: Sorry guys, I'm in a mess again!

Sorry for the delay.....I got sidetracked!
The IP addresses of both TV and PC are correct and fixed.
Seems that Bill Gates has bowled me a Googly though, windows network and sharing centre it seems defaults to "Public" in order to protect my files from snooping when I drag the whole shooting match down to Costa Coffee, and plug it in to their power supply...as you do!
Changing it to "Private" has unlocked both PC, and Serviio...all working fine again......till the next time!!

Ah well, I've learned a little more, to go with the miniscule amount I already think I know!!

Thanks again, all of you, good to know youre there when I panic!
