Sony BDP-S580 (force transcoding)

Hi,

I'm looking for a good profile for my BDP-S580. I tried the BDP-S370 profile with no luck ... in fact, with any profile I tried, there are always the same files not working ... but I know they aren't corrupted or something, because PlayOn was playing them fine.

Is there a way I could force transcoding for ALL files? I would use TVMOBiLi when I can, and when I need transcoding, I would use Serviio.

Thanks

Sam

Re: Sony BDP-S580 (force transcoding)

Here is the result (for one of the files I can't play) :

  Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Serviio\lib>ffmpeg.exe -i "L:\Series\South Park\S01\south
 park 1x01.avi"
FFmpeg version UNKNOWN, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the FFmpeg developers
  built on Jan 10 2011 21:46:22 with gcc 4.4.2
  configuration: --enable-static --disable-shared --disable-shared --disable-ffp
lay --disable-ffserver --enable-memalign-hack --enable-libmp3lame --arch=x86 --e
nable-runtime-cpudetect --enable-w32threads --target-os=mingw32 --cross-prefix=i
686-mingw32-
  libavutil     50.36. 0 / 50.36. 0
  libavcore      0.16. 0 /  0.16. 0
  libavcodec    52.108. 0 / 52.108. 0
  libavformat   52.92. 0 / 52.92. 0
  libavdevice   52. 2. 3 / 52. 2. 3
  libavfilter    1.72. 0 /  1.72. 0
  libswscale     0.12. 0 /  0.12. 0

Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 30000.00 (300
00/1) -> 25.00 (25/1)
Input #0, avi, from 'L:\Series\South Park\S01\south park 1x01.avi':
  Duration: 00:24:09.48, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 561 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 512x400 [PAR 1:1 DAR 32:25], 25 fps, 25
tbr, 25 tbn, 30k tbc
    Metadata:
      title           : NeoVideo92CF
    Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, s16, 96 kb/s
    Metadata:
      title           : NeoSound92CF0
At least one output file must be specified

Have you tried Serviio version 0.52, with the new comprehensive profile for Sony BDP?

It works for me with avi, mp4, and mkv.

Re: Sony BDP-S580 (force transcoding)

I have a Sony BD-370. My issue is AVI Divx will not play. I get the message corrupted file. I suspend Serviio is configured to remux or just pass through AVI Divx, but the play (US) will not play DIVX. It does work with XVID. I am trying to change settings on default BD profile to force transcribe of AVI containters that are encoded with DIVX.

Re: Sony BDP-S580 (force transcoding)

Could just be a bad file. Have you tried playing it from a USB memory stick plugged into the front panel (which would rule out DLNA being a problem if it doesn't play)?
LG OLED55B8PLA | PS4 Pro | Xbox One S | Synology DS214play
Serviio 2.1 package for Synology NAS - with limited hardware transcoding support!
