Playstation 3 "The data type is not supported"

First of, Thanks alot zip for serviio. Great work, loving it lots!

But I got a small problem with a few of my films/series, when trying to play some of them i get a "The data type is not supported"

So anyone with any pointers for me? Would rly help alot, everything else working like a charm

Im using the latest Serviio (0.6.0.1) and Playstation 3 with FW 3,72 (or .73?) :p (using the standard unmodified ps3 profile for Serviio)

I've tried editing the profile.xml but it went from semi working (some files playing) to none :p Could someone please help me out?

mkv with "Muxing mode : Header stripping" are not supported by PS3 in native format
Look at this: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1132
You could try to remux in a new mkv file using mkvmerge tool, or into m2ts with Tsmuxer. But if its a video codec or audio codec problem, you have to reencode files.

It seems that "header stripping" is the problem then? I viewd a few movies with Mediainfo and found that working movies also has the header stripping, eg

But could i "transcode away" the issue somehow? My movie collection is about 6 TB big, lots of movies, most of them HD content.. To find and fix all the none working films would take alot of time (they work just fine on XBMC/WMP etc)

VLC, XBMC or WMP are more permissive because there are based on software codec...PS3 is probably base to a chip so more "static".
Solution could be to force mpeg2 video encoding with better PS3 support.

Solution could be to force mpeg2 video encoding with better PS3 support.

How would you edit it for best compability then? Encoding shouldnt be a problem for me (i7 2600k processor, 8b ram, 460 gtx X 2 sli etc)

My current profile is as follows (just the playstation part)

I would suggest to stream into MPEGTS with MPEG2video (forced) and AC3-320kbps audio forced also like this.

But targetContainer="mpeg" should be fine too.

Okay so I've ran with that profile for a few days and it works with most videos, but some heavier movies like Avatar stutter the audio in a few scenes where the network load goes rocking. Now with that in mind I tried to limit the vbitrate to 25mb/sec but with no change (tried to set the abitrate to 192bit with no change), anything im overseeing? My profile is as follows for PS3,

Suggest to set maxVBitrate="17000"
