Subtitles without transcoding

I hope this question has not already been discussed...
I read this article:
http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=33

And I guess that I have to transcode the videos to use subtitles.
I have an mkv file with forced subtitles which are not displayed on the TV. The TV itself can encode mkv files. So is it an serviio issue or a tv problem?
The TV is a Samsung UE-42F5570

Thank you for your help!

Re: Subtitles without transcoding

It should work for Samsungs without transcoding, make sure you have the C/D/E profile selected.

Yes I did. I will try it again this evening and report if I could solve the issue.

Re: Subtitles without transcoding

Otherwise try with external subtitles first.
