Serviio does not detect my devices

I had setup Serviio successfully last year and was working fine. I had not used it in about 2 weeks. When I tried today from one of my devices, it did not see the Serviio server. I tried from a couple of other devices, and they had the same issue. I turned debugging on and saw the warning: "Error while retrieving renderer description: Cannot retrieve device description from http:...."
I opened up the TCP and UDP ports recommended and set the bound IP address to my PC, but that did not help.
I then uninstalled Serviio, restarted router and PC, installed Serviio. Now, Serviio does not even see my devices. I don't have the ability to manually add renderers.
Please help.

Thanks

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

This is exactly the sameproblem I am having, which I posted earlier about. Not only has the add button dissapeared, but serviio no longer sees 2 out of 3 of my Blu-ray players. One is Samsung BD-5100 and the other 2 are BD-5300. They were all working fine, when the 2 on wireless stopped seeing serviio and servioo stopped seeing them, even though the wireless devices are still connecting the Blu-ray players to the Internet. Now check this out, I swapped my BD -5300 which was working with the BD-5100 which wasn't working ( a direct ethernet connection.) And the BD-5100 is working and the 2 BD-5300 (now both on wireless aren't working-so it's not the players themselves. I tried eveything including shutting down firewalls re-installing serviio - everything I can think of, plus every possible solution off these forums. I can't see any reason why the working wireless connections are suddenly not being seen by serviio and what happened to the ADD button on the renderer profiles. I even tried using the coaxle to Ethernet device I just bought and same thing, connected to the Internet, yet no serviio. I'm thinking of trying to connect it directly, I'm pretty sure that will work but I am still worried why the software no longer let's me add profiles and why connected wireless device can no longer be found.

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

Are your wired and wireless devices on the same subnet? The Add button is gone because it was just confusing - devices should appear in the list if everything is correctly set up.

Yes, wired and wireless devices are all on the same subnet.

Thanks

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

192.168.1.4
192.168.1.8
192.168.1.10

The last device (192.168.1.10) is listed on Serviio, but that device does not see Serviio.

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

no mention of these in the log.... it looks like a firewall or antivirus blocking the TCP 8895 port.

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

I've previously created inbound rules for TCP 8895 and UDP 1900 in Windows Firewall. Private and Domain profiles are enabled.
Antivirus is Windows Defender and I couldn't find where it could block those ports.

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

Can you open this in a browser on the Serviio box?

  Code:
http://192.168.1.5:8895/deviceDescription/4e97ce0c-21f3-3bf7-a94b-ac43c325a2c0

If yes, you should be able to open it from another PC on your network.

Re: Serviio does not detect my devices

so it might be something with multicasting not working properly. Might be down to router, network card (drivers)... also search for IGMP on this forum
