Sorry for the long reply. I have been trying almost anything possible and can't figure it out. Have been trying to netstat and also run Wireshark which shows the broadcast SSDP.

But here are my information. Head router from ISP Zyxel 2602r-D1A. Behind that I have a normal switch where my Server (not working) is connected. I have a cable to my D-Link 655 which goes to my DLNA devices Wireless and Wired and also my other W7 clients. In DIR-655 I have enabled UpNP and multicast.

oh damn how many different routers do you need :O i counted 2 there and a switch no wonder its not working.

ok so IP of your server is 192.168.1.10 so that what need to be in the BOUND ip field in the console. We also know now from that command that its running on subnet of 255.255.255.0 which is fine and has a gateway ( the ip of teh dns ) of 192.168.1.1 again thats perfect BUT what is the IP of the devices yoour trying to connect to your serviio server (TV, BDP, etc) do they ALL fit in teh same as the server or are they as i supect different, so now you need to match teh setting of all the devices and post that here:

I took som hours of troubleshooting, but the trouble was a defect switch. It worked but not with DLNA. A normal switch with no management. I didn't think that would be an issue but it was and now it's working...

I would like to thank you for this thread!
I've spent hours trying to get this working, Sony bravia TV and serviio.
I was trying everything, got three different computers, win 7, win 2008 r2, hours of changing settings in firewall etc. no joy.
I've similar configuration as user with problems before me.
ISP is Virginmedia UK 50meg
Modem from viring ->Ethernet to router provided by Virgin (d-link dir-615) -> Tenga switch 10/100/1000 TEG 1008 -> and here there is few devices like TV, me desktop, home server, IP camera etc.
The router has wireless capabilities, and there is few more computers connected through wireless.
The thing is no UPNP communication was going outside of switch - I'm not able to explain why is this happening, Running Intel UPNP tool on computer working on wireless I was able to see devices (like other computers running WM)
But nothing was going trough switch,
As soon as I plugged tv and my desktop to router Intel tool got it straight away!

Is anyone able to explain what is going on ?

1. what port on router do you have switch connected to ?
2. port 1 ?
3. is the router even capable of having a switch linked to it ?
4. is it actualy a switch or a router yoru using a a switch?
5. if its a router have you turned of dhcp on the router your using as a switch?

I was just reading through this and remembered a problem I had ran into years ago with a Zyxel router. If it is a router causing the problem make sure the ports are not bridged in a strange way. I had two ports that were set up for voip, and they would not do anything media related. I could still ping IP addresses but was stuck on anything else. As soon as I removed those rules, it allowed it to work like a router should.

To be honest I don't know at the moment.
I've ditched this switch for time being, never got time to investigate.
Will try to have a go with it in next few weeks.

Re your question about port number on router - I don't think it was port 1.
I think router is capable because everything else was working. the only thing witch didn't work was DLNA stuff.
According to a tin it 1gb switch attached to router, which has 4 port switch build in.

An update on this topic. There is a ongoing issue with some cheap 1gbit switches. These things are supposed to be switch, doing nothing to a traffic going through.
Apparently some makes got a problem with multicast and UPNP protocol, thus blocking DLNA traffic.
I've moved recently and was setting up PS3 to stream movies from my PC, and bought myself a TP link switch (I've read reviews it does work ok with multicast).
It is working OK, problem sorted.
