READYSHARE and SERVIIO

I'm not sure if this has been answered but I'm gonna ask again. My external hard drive id connected to my Netgear N600 WNDR3400. I use ReadyShare to access the hard drive through my XBOX 360. I'm connected in SERVIIO but when I got to "MOVIES" it says no files found.... but when I go to "FOLDERS" every thing is there. Is there a process to fix this? I miss my easy access and DVD covers. Please Help
Re: READYSHARE and SERVIIO
The Folders category is populated using the filename for your media file. In contrast, the Movies category is populated using metadata - either metadata you provide in the form of an .nfo file, or more commonly, metadata downloaded automatically from the web by Serviio. Have a read of the wiki article: http://www.serviio.org/component/conten ... extraction.
If you are using Online metadata sources you need to rename your files according to the file naming scheme in that article. This allows Serviio to match the filename for the movie/series to the online data sources. For movies it's simple "movie name (year).xxx". Once you have done that refresh your library and you should now have titles in your Movies category (and Actors, Directors, Genre etc categories). Also see my post here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10626&p=70544#p70544 for further info and for info on using the Filebot tool to help rename your files.

Re: READYSHARE and SERVIIO
Thank you for your response. I believe Serviio has created the metadata info for me because when I go into the folders and pick a movie the DVD cover is there. Are you saying I need to change something so that the "Movies" folder will recognize it?
Re: READYSHARE and SERVIIO
No, Serviio doesn't store posters in the folder - it stores all data, including posters, in its own database. The poster in your folder must have been created by something else, or commonly, downloaded with the movie.
To use online metadata sources, in Serviio Console:
Then go back into Serviio Console and force refresh your library (on the Library tab, press Force Refresh).
To use online metadata sources, in Serviio Console:
- On the Library tab, ensure that Metadata is ticked (under the M symbol) for your shared folder. Press Save if you change anything;
- On the Metadata tab (Video), ensure top two checkboxes are ticked, dropdown box is set to "Online metadata sources" and "Retrieve DVD Cover Image" is checked. Press Save if you change anything.
Then go back into Serviio Console and force refresh your library (on the Library tab, press Force Refresh).
Re: READYSHARE and SERVIIO
All folders have metadata info for them now. But still nothing under the movies section. Only in last added and under folders. Could it be a a file sharing issue?
Re: READYSHARE and SERVIIO
No it wouldn't be file sharing, if it were, you wouldn't see them under the Folders category. What changed? Depending on what you did you may need press both the Force Refresh button (on the Library to press tab) and the Rescan Video Metadata button (on the Metadata tab).
All folders have metadata info for them now.
