cannot connect to servio server, does not appear to be runni

Servio has been running for a long time on my system, Windows 8.0 on an HP system.
Servio was downloaded 11/7/2013.
I updated JAVA to 1.8.20 on Tues Oct 21, 2014. It deleted an old version of Java to avoid problems, I do not remember the version but probably was the previous level of it.

Problem:
Opening servio the SevioConsole.exe file seems to be running, using 45.9MB with 0.1% CPU usage, but the connection seems to have a problem.
"Servio Error: Cannot connect to servio server, it does not seem to be running."

What could I have missed doing?

Have you checked the Event logs and also the Services to make sure it's running, if not then start it. If it fails it should generate an error in the Event Log which you can have a look at.

For info I'm running Java 8 and no issues.

I do not remember which service controls the access rights, servio, windows sharing, or system? looked at a dln file setup page but it did not match with anything I could find.
Probably memory fade.

I M GETTING THE FOLLOWING MSGS IN THE LOG FILE.
lots of these

Re: cannot connect to servio server, does not appear to be r

The Serviio service runs under a system user, you might have to change that to a real user that has access to these folders.
